WATCH ME MAKE THE THE PIGGY FAKE ICE CREAM CONE
MATERIALS YOU WILL NEED:
- Foam Clay
- Fake Cherry
- Food Colors to color the clay yourself
- Glue
- Soft Pastels
- Clay Tool Set
- Cookie Mold
- Strawberry Sprinkles
- Toothpicks
- Makers Magic
- Scale
STEP 1: FAKE ICE CREAM CONE
Quick rant:
I honestly don’t love how my fake ice cream cone turned out but I wanted to share this design with you anyway because it’s so fun! You can buy fake cones on etsy or maybe yours turn out better and you wont need to. I will be practicing more and trying out some other things. So make sure you follow me on Facebook and join my group because that’s where all the updates happen first! –> Join Here
Lets get started:
Take 15g of brown clay and make it into a ball then press it onto your work surface until your cone reaches about two inches in size. It doesnt need to be exact its just to give you an idea.
take your clay blade or popsicle stick and press it into the sides of the cone on an angle. switch the angle 45 degrees and go over again so you get the waffle pattern. Alternativly, buy a fake plastic cone, or use a waffle pattern mat.

Next, shape a 6 inch log of the same brown shade and create a rim to top off the cone. Do the exact same thing as before to create the waffle pattern.

Shave some soft pastels and apply with a fluffy brush all over the cone to make it look baked and more realistic.
STEP 2: PIGGY AND Fake ICE CREAM
Take your silicon mold and stuff it well with pink foam clay. Make sure you use enough to have some extra foam clay sticking out on the bottom. That will create that realistic look. If your clay is too soft to get out without misshaping it, you can pop it in the freezer!!! Some people use a small amount of oil on the mold to avoid sticking. My clay usually comes out well without any tricks.
Tips for using silicon molds:
- apply a small amount of oil (baby oil, clear cooking oil)
- pop in the freezer
- mix your sticky clay with soft clay

Once you got your fake ice cream ball out, add it to your cone.
Take about 11g of pink clay and shape a flattish, oval ball. With your index finger and thumb carefully pull on one side to create the leg. Keep smoothing it out as you go. Do this for all four legs. The legs are supposed to resemble ice cream drips.

For the tail, shape a log of pink clay (0.08g) and twist it around to creat the piggy tail. Attach to the back with the help of a paint brush.
EDIT: here I forgot to add one layer of chocolate sauce in the video! If you like to break up the contrast a little bit of the two pink ice cream balls, add some brown hot glue before you add your piggy.
Once you shaped your piggy body add it on top of the fake ice cream ball.
Next, take a small amount of a little darker shade of pink foam clay. You can mix a small amount of red clay or food coloring to get the shade. Form a ball and press it onto the piggy’s face. With the end of a pencil, create the 2 nostrils.

Create the ears with using only about 0.03g of pink foam clay and a round tool to wrap the clay around and shape the ears. Pinch with your fingers to get the tip then add the ear to the pig and press it on with your tool.
STEP 3: FUN FAKE ICE CREAM TOPPINGS
Use approximately 3.5g of white clay and pull and twist it to create the whipped cream dollop. Then add it to the piggy’s head and top it off with a fake cherry. I don’t recommend getting those from Temu, as the quality was so bad, I could not use mine when I last ordered them there, and now order from Amazon.

Carefully add the brown hot glue all around the cherry and top with your sprinkles. If the glue dries before your can secure them in there you can attach them with super glue.

STEP 4: FACIAL FEATURES
The last step is to draw on the face. I use the Posca pen as they are easy to use.

ALL DONE!!! How fun was that??? You can change it up, use different sprinkles, use a bowl instead of the cone, and make different colors of ice cream or sauces. The possibilities are endless! I can’t wait to see what you make! Please share your results with my group! I love to see how it turns out!

Such a cute website you have! Thanks for sharing all that you share. 🙂
Thank you so much for your kind comment!!! It’s my passion and therapy <3
