Crafting with foam clay is not just about creating cute figures; it’s like a therapy session that’s all about relaxation and pure enjoyment. Imagine the joy of squishing, molding, and creating without any mess – that’s the beauty of foam clay! It’s not just for the kids; adults can totally get in on the fun too.
So, if you’re looking for a creative outlet that’s soothing and brings out your inner artist, foam clay is the way to go! It’s a fantastic indoor activity for the whole family! No day goes by without my son asking for some squishy foam clay time. And the best part is when it dries, it does not crumble as playdough would. Not even if it’s left under the couch or forgotten in some corner. What are you waiting for? let’s get those creative vibes flowing together! 🌈✨
Supplies you will need:
- White Foam Clay
- Straw
- Brown Hot Glue Sticks
- Hot Glue Gun
Step 1: shaping the perfect marshmallow
Take some white clay, roll it into a log, and then press one end onto your work surface. Flatten both ends in this same way by rolling and pressing.
Insert a straw into the marshmallow and reshape it as needed.
Step 2: Let it dry
Now, it’s time to exercise some patience. Allow your project to dry for 24 hours, then flip it over to let the bottom dry as well. While it’s drying, you can take a moment to explore my other tutorials for more crafting inspiration.

Step 3: Chocolate Coating Fun:
Get your glue gun ready and frost the marshmallow quickly. Take caution not to burn yourself with the tip. Its easier said then done.
Focus on the drips first and work your way around one drip after the other. The glue will dry fast, this is why you focus on the drips first.
When you made it all around the marshmallow then you can fill in the top. This will guarantee a smooth and realistic look of the chocolate coating.
You can add a charming bow to the straw for a festive finish.
