This project is part of my earlier foam clay collection. Some details may use older techniques, older measurements (including grams), or early versions of my size-based system.
I’m keeping it here for free because many people still enjoy it, but it isn’t part of the updated beginner path or the improved printable library.
Get ready to craft your way into Valentine’s Day with an adorable Cupid figure tutorial! Here’s a fun and easy project to spread some love and decorate a flower arrangement for some extra valentines vibes in your home. This one is for advanced clay enthusiasts and a little bit more challenging.

Crafting with foam clay is not just about creating cute figures; it’s like a therapy session that’s all about relaxation and pure enjoyment. Imagine the joy of squishing, molding, and creating without any mess – that’s the beauty of foam clay! It’s not just for the kids; adults can totally get in on the fun too.
So, if you’re looking for a creative outlet that’s soothing and brings out your inner artist, foam clay is the way to go! It’s a fantastic indoor activity for the whole family! No day goes by without my son asking for some squishy foam clay time. And the best part is when it dries, it does not crumble as playdough would. Not even if it’s left under the couch or forgotten in some corner. What are you waiting for? let’s get those creative vibes flowing together! 🌈✨

Step 1: The Head
Begin by molding a ball out of the beige foam clay. Create a gentle indentation across the middle using a pen or tool.
Shape a small ball for the nose and place it slightly below the indentation.
Craft two tiny ear-shaped balls and attach them to the sides.
Give the cheeks and forehead a little blush with some pink soft pastel.
Step 2: The Hair
Let your creativity flow! Twist, twirl, or keep it flat. Form sausages of varying thickness and add them to the head.
For an extra touch, give Cupid some delightful bangs.
Step 3: The Body
Shape a teardrop with beige clay and amke a cut into the bottom for the legs. Smooth it out for a seamless finish.
Sculpt two small logs for the arms. Buff her entire body with little pink pastels for a rosy baby look.
Step 4: The Heart
Either sculpt a heart from red clay or attach a charming heart-shaped accessory for Cupid to hold above its belly.
Step 5: The Wings
Create two flat teardrops out of white foam clay and cut into them twice to resemble three feather-like ends. Affix these to Cupid’s back.
Step 6: Pin for Ornamentation
Use glue to fix a pin onto Cupid’s head. Thread a string of fishing line through it, allowing you to include your crafted Cupid in a floral arrangement or any decoration of your choice.
Spread some love with your Cupid creation and celebrate Valentine’s Day in style! Happy crafting!
